Road to Lexington - Day 1
Left Meridian at 3:00pm. Dark clouds looming past Pocatello...pulled over to put the tarp over the suitcases. More fuel for the car and a quick bite in Idaho Falls. A little rain there and a little snow around Ashton, and the windshield is clean again :) Couldn't see any of Island Park reservoir or Henrys Lake--too dark. But we could see the outline of the trees along the highway. We got into West Yellowstone, MT about 9:30p. Holly's comment, "It smells fresh." And it does. There is a little snow on the ground around the buildings, but the roads are dry. Didn't quite have time to hit the pool or hot tub. We did take a couple pictures from the car on the drive over, but the batteries seem to be used up and the charger is in the car...will have to add pictures tomorrow. We've got a 9 hour drive tomorrow...45 minutes to Old Faithful, then 4 hours to Billings Costco (right, Terry?) then another 4 hours to Sundance, WY. At least, that's the plan for tomorrow if all goes well. We'd rather not be driving in the dark, since we've never seen this part of the country before...
